More than half of the population of sub-Saharan Africa will subscribe to a mobile phone service by 2025, according to the latest edition of the Mobile World Mobile Operators Association's Mobile Economy Report Series (GSMA). The region's mobile ecosystem also supported 3 million jobs in 2017 and contributed $ 14 billion in public sector funding in the form of general taxation as well as sector-specific taxes on service consumption.
