The NBA has announced the opening of a training center in Saly, Senegal. An investment that tends to facilitate the development of basketball.
The NBA tends to promote basketball around the world. And that goes through a presence in the field and not investments. It is in this context that the NBA Academy Africa has participated in the development of a new structure that will serve as a training camp for prospects on the continent. It opened in Saly, Senegal.
The new facilities include two indoor basketball courts, a multi-activity center, a weight and fitness room, a conference room and dormitories. The center will also have educational facilities. This new facility will be the first of its kind on the African continent.

NBA Academy Africa will contribute to the development of the NBA's existing basketball and youth development initiatives in Africa, including the Jr. NBA program, for girls and boys aged 16 and under in Angola, Cameroon , Congo, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Senegal and South Africa. Basketball Without Borders, an NBA and FIBA program for basketball development and community outreach, was held 16 times in Africa, and allowed ten former participants to be drafted into the NBA.
