Regarding the debt owed to private higher institutions, he assures that of the $ 16 billion that the state owed to these structures, "3 billion were paid, 3 others will be disbursed in the coming days to bring it back to 10 billion". CFA francs.
He also mentioned a "frank dialogue" that is being conducted with the heads of these private institutions, especially as he believes that both parties find their account in the partnership linking them.
In this regard, he said that since 2014, the state had paid "more than 31 billion" CFA francs to private universities. He promised to make the details of these payments available to parliamentarians.
The minister has called on the heads of private higher education institutions to show understanding, returning to the measure of returning students whose state pays tuition fees.
It revealed that 47,427 new graduates were referred to private higher education institutions from 2013 to 2018.
The state pays "for all undergraduate students, the sum of 400,000 CFA francs per year," he said, adding that only 10% of these students with a degree are selected for the master's degree. at which stage each student is supported up to 600,000 CFA francs per year per student.
