After Neon Generis Evangelion, Netflix has just announced the creation of a new Serie based on an animated japanese: Cowboy Bebop, released in 1988 and so much appreciated by fans. Those are 10 episodes which are planned. These will be co-produced by Tomorrow Studios, which has also co-produced the Aquarius series for NBC and Good Behavior for TNT in the United States.

No release date has been announced, but Netflix describes the series as "the story of a motley group of bounty hunters seeking to escape their past while pursuing the most dangerous criminals in the universe, against the background of jazz. " Jazz music is an important part of it, the music of the 26 episodes of the anime of origin having been composed by Yoko Kanno.

To complete this project, Netflix chose Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum Mission Impossible coauthors: Ghost Protocol and Jeff Pinknet and Scott Rosenberg, Co-authors of Venom and the last Jumanji. The first episode is written by Christopher Yost, author of the last two films Thor. The director of the original anime Shinichiro Watanabe is consulting him on this new project.
