In her brief note of which we have a copy, Idrissa Seck also calls the National Assembly. "Rewmi calls on our Parliament to not ratify this unfair agreement, negotiated without taking into account the views and needs of fishermen and their unions, and which risks mortgaging dangerously a key sector of our economy and the future of entire generations of young Senegalese who aspire only to live with dignity in their own country.
In this new one-year renewable agreement, Senegalese fishers are eligible for 400 licenses to catch 50,000 tons of pelagic fish with 400 canoes.
According to the terms of the agreement, Senegal will pay Mauritania 15 euros for each tonne of fish caught, including 10 euros owed by fishermen and 5 euros by the State of Senegal
