A crisis that coincides with the summer holidays and the return of the EMRs. The Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced Friday the cancellation of ten flights because of what the company called "social tensions" in reference to the dispute that has pitted it for a month to the Moroccan Association of Pilots
According to the RAM, ten flights to and from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca were canceled, while other flights could also, for the same reasons,
The company called its customers to inquire about their flights before traveling to the airport, including flights Casablanca-Paris-Casablanca.
Several flights have also experienced disruptions including those to Italy, Poland in the direction, and to the French cities of Toulouse and Marseilles.
The Royal Air Maroc also indicated that other flights connecting Casablanca to Barcelona, Nouakchott and Le Cairo, one way and return, could also be disturbed, adding that their new schedules will be announced at the airport.
Faced with this situation, the company has proposed to postpone the flights concerned before August 15, at no additional cost, or to obtain compensation in case of cancellation of the flight, stressing that it "will spare no effort to remedy this situation."
According to the site Hespress, the tension within the RAM reached its paroxysm while its managing director, Abdelhamid Addou, sent a letter to AMPL warning against any strike after rumors surfaced of possible protests by airline pilots.
"The strike announced by the pilots, yesterday, will be devastating for the economic indicators of the company, "said Addou, arguing that it would damage the image of the company to its customers.

For its part AMPL formally denies, Friday, "allegations that Royal Air Maroc airline pilots are on strike."
"The AMPL confirms that the airline pilots perform their missions, namely their flights as well as their penalty payments as provided for in their monthly flight schedules established by the company Royal Air Maroc and in accordance with the laws and regulations in force, "said the association in a statement.
L AMPL also claims that "the social climate has worsened" within the RAM, questioning the real reasons behind the letter from the company's general manager accusing the pilots of going on strike.
The Moroccan Association of Pilots had begun a dialogue with RAM officials for months to increase salaries and annual allowances without reaching an agreement between the two parties.
