Algiers, Algeria (ADV) – Algerian oil and gas group Sonatrach has signed a contract with British engineering firm Petrofac on November 27 for the development of Tinhert gas fields in Tamanrasset wilaya (province) in southwestern Morocco. country.
The signature of this $ 600 million contract was signed by ENGCB (The National Company of Civil Engineering and Building (ENGCB), which is a subsidiary of Sonatrach, already present on this Tinhert site.
With the objective of increasing gas production with a daily gas input of 4.7 million cubic meters per day, this contract provides for the construction of a separation and compression center and utilities. upstream of the existing gas complex for the connection of 36 wells of gas fields in the north of the country, according to APS.
This contract also includes the treatment of all raw gas at the Ohanet plant located in Illizi wilaya, in south-eastern Algeria, through the management of CO2 and mercury. as well as the production of 750 tonnes / day of condensate.
The British multinational Petrofac has been present in Algeria since 1999. In 2000, it signed with Sonatrach its largest contract worth $ 660 million for the development of the Ohanet gas field.
