Tambacounda, July 6 (APS) – About 50 kg of fake drugs were seized in various markets and bus stations in the city of Tambacounda, by the defense and security forces and the regional trade service, learned APS, Friday.

This is an operation carried out all day Thursday, in these places and other public places of the town which allowed to get hold of this quantity of fake drugs.

This action brought together all the defense and security forces who combined their efforts with those of the regional trade service, the medical region and the regional supply pharmacy.

According to Tambacounda Police Commissioner Yaya Tamba, the operation is part of the protection of public health and the security of the population.

"This is a real punch operation that has helped to recover in the distribution market drugs such as tetracycline, paracetamol, ocytetracyline, antibiotics, aphrodisiac drugs, analgesics, among others ", he said.

He indicated that 15 men and women were arrested and will be presented to the public prosecutor. He recalled that drugs must be sold in pharmacies and not in the street.
