After a brief lull, the tension rises between the RAM and its airline pilots. The Moroccan Association of Airline Pilots (AMPL) has just published an information note on the Extraordinary General Assembly held on July 16, 2018.

On the AGE menu, take stock of the state of affairs progress of the negotiations conducted by the Bureau AMPL with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Air Maroc and the management of the company

Unfortunately, the meeting devoted to the presentation of the draft agreement of method did not proceed as planned. And for good reason, after a series of meetings, the two parties had agreed on a number of points and commitments on both sides.

"On this basis and in order to be able to agreement in a calm atmosphere, the AMPL Bureau asked the AMPL members to postpone the proposal voted at the AGE of 04 July and invited them to the EGM of 16 July for a presentation of the draft agreement of method "(19659003) Except that contrary to what was planned, the agreement included new points to the surprise of the Bureau AMPL. The training note refers to flip-flops in the management positions, the emergence of new requirements and previously excluded positions namely:

  • The ENPL: the commitment to the opening of the ENPL under the program contract is no longer guaranteed in accordance with the commitment of the CEO, but could be done in partnership and the payment of 1/3 of the training will intervene only from January 2019 and will therefore not concern not the EPLs recruited in 2018;
  • Salary revaluation: while the agreement in principle was given according to the amounts and phases proposed by AMPL Bureau, RAM conditions the second as well as the third tranche to the hypothetical size of the fleet and excludes new recruits from this revaluation for a period of 5 years. Two new parameters are mentioned for the first time on July 10, 2018;
  • A social peace of five years under the program contract or two years if absence of the program contract;
  • The failure to take into account the grievances of RAM express expressed in previous meetings

In the face of this new situation, the AMPL Bureau expressed its reservations about the drafting of this agreement. He asked for an additional period of reflection with the aim of developing a balanced agreement that takes into account the interests of all parties. The sovereign General Assembly, for its part, decided by vote the application of the resolutions decided at the AGM of June 28, 2018.
