The Morning – 23 athletes to defend the national colors in Asaba

The 21st edition of the Senior African Athletics Championship kicks off this Wednesday in the Nigerian city of Asaba with the participation of a hundred athletes from the African continent. This competition, which takes place from August 1st to 5th, sees the participation of 23 Moroccan athletes, led by Soufiane El Bakkali and Rabab El Arafi

Composed of 23 athletes (14 men and 9 ladies), the delegation Moroccan flew late last week to Nigeria where they participate in the 21st edition of the African Athletics Championship. This edition is held from August 1st to 5th in the Nigerian city of Asaba. Among the Moroccan athletes expected during his games, Soufiane El Bakkali will be in the running for a gold medal in the 3.000 steeplechase. Gold Medalist at the last Mediterranean Games, Rabab El Arafi will try to glean a charm in the 800 or 1,500 m. Recall that these championships are qualifying for the Continental Cup Athletics scheduled for 8 and 9 September in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and will bring together four continental teams, namely Africa, America, Europe and Asia- Oceania.
