Only, in reality, users are not all in this age range. Even though the age limit for registering is 13, a lot of them are younger. According to figures from the association Génération numérique, TikTok is above all a phenomenon in colleges more than half of girls aged 11 to 14 would have an account.

And like other social networks, the application is not immune to malicious people. Thus, several observers have noted the recurrent presence of sexual predators on the platform, in several countries, including France. In the face of controversy, ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok said " take the safety and well-being of users very seriously ". She also gave advice to parents, for further protect their children on the app, and recalled the age limit implemented.
