Touba remembers his 3rd Khalife of the Mourides this Saturday

The famous Mouride community, this Saturday, July 07, 2018, the Magal of Serigne Abdou Lahat Mbacké who marks the birth of the third Khalif general of the Mourides.Serigne Abdou Lahat Mbacké succeeded his brother Serigne Fallou Mbacké, in 1968. Son of Serigne Touba and Sokhna Mariama Diakhaté, he was born in Diourbel in 1961.

His uncle Serigne Amsatou Diakhaté taught him the teachings of the Holy Quran in the company of his brothers of Souhaibou Mbacké and Serigne Saliou Mbacké (5th Khalife of the Mourides). It is also to him that we owe the modernity of the capital of Mouridism, with the extension and the great works of Touba, just a few years after having taken the reins of Mouridism.

Farmer inveterate, he distinguished itself in the work of the land with its vast holdings in Kabes, Mbara Dieng, Touba-Belel, Boki and Balodji. Serigne Abdou Lahat Mbacké was recalled to God on June 19, 1989 in Touba.

He will be replaced at the khalifat by his younger brother, Serigne Abdou Khadre Mbacké, father of Serigne Sheikh Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadre, current spokesman of the Caliph General of the Mourides, Serigne Mountakha Bassirou Mbacké.
