[ad_1]

Trans Musicales Rennes, it's been 40 years that lasts. 40 editions of musical discoveries, mixtures of origins and genres. In the end, a package of memories, especially good, very few disappointments or missed. Jean-Louis Brossard (read his interview) known for his flair and his pioneering talent seems, this year again, to have had fun. Because choosing is giving up, here is our (difficult) selection of groups not to miss the Trans this year.

  • Komodo, Pop rock, Netherlands
Jean-Louis Brossard assures that each programmed group will bring its lot of groove ". With Komodo you will be served. The Bataves offer a hyper dancing sound, original with multiple influences: rock, pop, hip-hop, surf rock etc. Go there with your eyes closed, your ears wide open.
    Hall 3, Friday 7

  • Bodega, Post-punk, USA
Tight pieces, nervous of two-three minutes maximum, indie rock, post-punk and dance influences. It's simple, effective, already a little bit heard but it's good anyway! A concert that promises to be fun and dancing.
    Hall 3, Saturday, December 8

  • Black Pumas, Soul, USA
It's not even a year since the Texan group has been playing concerts, and already their performances are unanimously noticed. In question, mainly the bluffing voice of a leader who masters the entire palette of soul. It's sensual, psychedelic, classy.
    Hall 3, Thursday, December 6

  • The Nagash Ensemble, Classic / Traditional, Armenia-USA
This is the UFO of this 40th edition, the (big) risk-taking of the festival: poems written by an Armenian priest of the 15th century, sung on traditional music by a vocal lyric trio. It's going to be a bit odd in Hall 8 of Expo Park but the organizers promise a moment of rare beauty. Let's trust them.
    Hall 8, Friday, December 7

  • The Surrenders, British blues / rock & soul, United Kingdom
A group like only the English still have the secret! There is Jim Morrisson frankly in the attitude of singer and energy sixties in their musical productions. Do not miss the closing of a magnificent "rock" evening.
    Hall 3, Friday, December 7

  • Pongo, Afropop, Angola-Portugal-France
An artist who sums up the color of this 2018 program: a mix of cultures and musical influences. A powerful voice, dances, electro, a hint of kuduro. Of the " world sound As Jean-Louis Brossard would say!
    Hall 8, Thursday, December 6

  • Wild Aloise, Hip hop / electro-pop, France
Revealed in the cinema in 120 beats per minuteAloïse Sauvage was chosen for the annual and always very qualitative creation of L'Aire Libre. After Yann Tiersen, Gaetan Rousel, Jeanne Added or Stromae, the young woman has great chances to seriously break after his week in Rennes.
    The Free Area, every night

  • Dombrance, Electro-pop, France
This is THE electro sound of this 40th edition. Hall 9, each year spectacularly transformed into giant nightclub, will it be large enough to accommodate the thousands of party-goers ready to fight on this modern and ultra-dancing disco?
    Hall 9, Friday, December 7

  • streams, Breton / electro-jazz music, BZH
Listen to the single Plinn from this trio bass / piano / clarinet and you will know how to rhyme tradition and modernity. A simple sound, heady, terribly effective, witnessing the constant renewal of Breton traditional music.
The Floor, Saturday, December 8 (free)

  • Praa, R & B / soul pop, BZH
The Rennaise Praa testifies, if it still needed proof, that the scene Rennes is not back but that it is on the contrary for 40 years extremely productive and creative. A joyful and futuristic soul, which has nothing to envy with the best of the other side of the Channel.
