Tunisian South meets cinema with "Tozeur International Film Festival"

From 5 to 8 December, the south of Tunisia will be in cinema mode with the first edition of "Tozeur International Film Festival" (TOIFF).

On the program: films but also a prodigious setting between oasis and mountain. The ambition of the organizers is great: to become a must-attend festival like the festivals of Marrakech or Cannes, "said TOIFF director Hamida Mrabet.

More than 30 films are in official competition, divided between the feature films, short films, and a third category reserved for feature and documentary short films. The winners will receive the Golden Scorpion.

The films in official competition in the feature film category are Nejib Belkadhi's "Look Me", Mohamed Ben Attia's "Weldi", Faouzi Bensaidi's "Volubilis" (Morocco), Ryusuke Hamaguchi's "Asako" (Japan), "Mister" Rohena Cera (India), "The eternals" of Zhao Tao (China), "Writing on snow" Rashid Masharawi (Palestine) and "The last days of a city" of Tamer El Said (Egypt).

In the short fiction category, there are short films produced in "Tunisia Factory 2018" with "Brotherhood" by Meryam Joobeur (Tunisia), "Aya" by Moufida Fedhila (Tunisia), "Astra" by Nidhal Guiga (Tunisia), and "Black Mamba" by Amel Guellaty.
