An octogenarian is hospitalized in a serious condition, after being injured in a road accident involving a police biker escorting Prince William and his wife Kate, an incident that made the UK tabloids on Wednesday.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were attending a ceremony in Windsor on Monday afternoon, when a rider overthrew an 83-year-old woman in Richmond, South West London. The victim was rushed to hospital in serious condition, said Scotland Yard.
"The bike hit her, she was thrown into the air and fell to the ground," said a witness in the tabloid "The Sun". "The policeman was upset, but he was driving on the wrong side of the road, it could have been much worse," he added.

Four incidents in seven months
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "deeply concerned and saddened" by the accident, said Kensington Palace, which manages their communication. The couple sent flowers to the old lady and offered to visit him, said his daughter in the tabloid "The Sun".
The Independent Police Office (IOPC), the police police, opened an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. A spokesman said that "the woman, an octogenarian, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a London hospital where she remains in a serious, but stable."
According to the "Daily Mail", this is the fourth incident involving a member of the royal family in seven months.
