World 2018: France first qualified for the semi-finals

France is the first qualifier for the semifinals of the 2018 World Cup. The Blues have reached the last four after leaving Uruguay (2-0) in the quarterfinals, this Friday at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium (Russia)

The start of this first quarter-final of the Russian world has been balanced. Over the minutes, the French managed to take control of the game by being more enterprising than their opponent of the day. The speed and vivacity of the French center-forward, including Kylian Mbappé, managed to undermine the Uruguayan defense but failed to break the deadlock.

As this first period progresses towards a white score (0- 0), Varane opened the scoring for France in the 40th minute. Real Madrid defender cut the trajectory of a good kick by Griezmann to materialize the domination of his team.

It is therefore logical that France has turned in the lead before returning to the locker room.

The lemon break ended, Uruguay is left to the charge in search of equalization. Heavily handicapped by the absence of Edinson Cavani, the Blue Sky besieged the French defense without being really incisive.

At the moment when the comrades of Suarez were trying by all means to make up their little delay, France managed to to plant a second goal, in the 62nd minute, following a blunder of the Uruguayan goalkeeper. The unfortunate Muslera has miscalculated the trajectory of a Griezmann floating strike, the ball has escaped his hands to end the nets.

This second achievement of the French literally saw the legs of Uruguay, disappointing today who ended up abdicating in the face of a much higher antagonist.

The future opponent of the Blues in the semifinals will be known tonight after a tantalizing Brazil – Belgium. The match will be held at 19:00 (Algerian time) at Kazan Arena.
