We were talking about it a few weeks ago, IKEA wanted to launch its own connected bulbs. It has been some years since the kit furniture giant is developing its range of connected and home automation products, and the manufacturer's bulbs are particularly interesting because of their price.

And now, the brand can count on Xiaomi's support to develop its connected devices. Donovan Sung, product manager of the Chinese firm, recently announced that Ikea's connected lamps will soon be compatible with the Mi Home platform. Compatibility is announced on December 1st, which means that those who already have Xiaomi's home automation system will be able to integrate Ikea's connected bulbs and lamps into their system.

The partnership should benefit both entities: Ikea should sell its connected objects more easily and users will be able to discover Xiaomi products dedicated to the home. In addition, the partnership could evolve over time with the production of various home automation items specifically for Ikea and still integrable in Mi Home.
