Magistrate Yaya Amadou Dia rehabilitated. According to Les Echos, Dia has been appointed as the new chairman of the Kaolack Court of Appeal. Macky Sall appointed him yesterday at the meeting of the Superior Council of the Judiciary. A resignation of the Court of repression of the illicit enrichment (Crei), he was summoned before the General Inspectorate of the legal affairs for disciplinary measures following his remarks on the Karim Wade case. Yaya Amadou Dia had defended through his pen the admissibility of Karim Wade's candidacy for the 2019 presidential election. Former assessor at the Court of Repression of the illicit enrichment (Crei), he had slammed the door before the end of the trial of son of former president Abdoulaye Wade.
