Sephiroth’s problem causes every character’s Final Smash attack to get ridiculously bad in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

New characters often lead to new bugs, and Nintendo Unity has found this to be the case with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s latest guest: Sephiroth.

The One-Winged Angel can potentially put a damper on group play as it can, under the right conditions, cause an issue that makes each character’s Final Smash attack incredibly ineffective and often visually biased in some way.

The fact that this seems to only affect Final Smash’s attacks means that the competitive crowd might not need to worry much, but considering how massive Smash Ultimate’s casual fan base is, this is because is probably something Masahiro Sakurai and his team will want to do. not too distant future.

For the problem to happen, Sephiroth has to face Pokemon Trainer. If the newcomer hits any of the three Pokémon with their Shadow Flare attack, (which causes three shadow orbs to orbit the victim for a short time before exploding and causing damage) and the character is killed by the time the orbs would have hit them, problems begin to arise.

Nothing extraordinary happens immediately, but if other characters in the fight attempt to perform their Final Smash, they will be very disappointed with the results. Most of these heavy strike techniques deal 40% damage and are incredibly difficult to dodge, but if the aforementioned events have occurred, these maneuvers are only a tiny fraction of their usual damage.

Bowser, for example, normally scales to Giga Bowser and provides a huge haymaker that covers a massive part of the screen. Instead of doing around 40% damage, it deals a measly 7.5% on success.

Unity shows off every last Final Smash in the game when affected by this issue in the video below. Again, this is probably not an extreme urgency as it won’t directly affect most SSBU matches, but you still don’t want this sort of thing floating around and making your game look one-sided. bit of poor quality.
