They are currently "connected" to the Mercedes X Class, a luxury truck based on the Nisan Navare platform and, moreover, Alliance Reno-Nisan introduces a new 1.3-liter turbocharger following cooperation with Daimler. The next step was to be a compact model, but we will hardly see it.
However, it seems that the joint development of luxury cars between Nisana and Daimler has come to an end because markets are no longer neglected for passenger cars but are turning to lighter trucks.
Two companies have even agreed to launch a luxury compact car in Mexico, owned jointly by Daimler and Reno-Nisan-Mitsubishi Alliance, with a capacity of 230,000 units per year.
What's more, Infiniti, Nissan's luxury model, has begun to model the QX50, but the common limousine system is far beyond reality.
Nisan and Reno hold about 1.55% of Daimler shares, while the German giant holds 3.1% of the shares in both hands, companies will surely continue to cooperate, but this cooperation is obviously limited.
