Apple released several improved MacBook Pro notebooks that come with extra GPU power if needed. The company merged with Blackmagic to create a new external GPU

The new external GPU is based on the Radeon Pro 580 graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM, for which Apple points out that it has improved graphics performance up to 39 to 2.8 times the new MacBook Pro 15-inch, and eight times the 13-inch model.

The external Apple / Blackmagic GPU has 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, 4 USB 3.0 ports and 1 HDMI 2.0 port, which means to serve as a dock station. It is also the first external GPU solution that supports Thunderbolt 3 displays, such as the Apple-branded LG 5K models for Macbook Pro.

Apple sells the new Blackmagic eGPU exclusively, at $ 699
