This is the biggest sanction ever given by the authorities in charge of competition rules to a single company and represents an important message from the European Commissioner to the Margrete Vestager competition. In yesterday the Commission announced that Google was using Android, which is free and is used on three quarters of smartphones in Europe, to unfairly strengthen its dominance in Internet research over its competitors.

It was found that Gugl's relationships with some of the biggest phone makers involved pre-installing the Google search engine option if they wanted to access the popular services of tech companies, which destabilizing the consumer and compromising competition. Google has used Android as a way to cement the dominance of its browser, according to Commissioner Vestager.
