Cambridge researchers discovered that niobium oxide and tungsten oxide allowed a much faster charge of the battery, which significantly reduced the time to wait for recharging vehicles electric and mobile phones.
In particular, waiting until a car battery recharges to be able to roll at 200 or 300 miles is one of the main reasons why many are not ready to turn to electric vehicles. The speed at which the charged battery depends on the rate at which positively charged ions of lithium can reach the negatively charged electrode, and one of the solutions were nanoparticles.

Now Cambridge has found that lithium ion can cross niobium and tungsten oxide faster.
The study by Kent Griffith indicates that these particles are fundamentally different. They were discovered in 1965, and scientists found in the tests that ions passed through the battery tested several hundred times faster than conventional electrodes with ceramics. Gripit points out that they can easily be manufactured and do not require additional chemicals and solvents.
The next step for scientists will be to optimize the use of these materials throughout the battery. They note that the technique could be further optimized, which will bring further improvements in the operation of these batteries.
