CarGo has submitted to the Constitutional Court of Serbia an initiative to initiate proceedings to assess the constitutionality and legality of the Road Transport Act in road traffic, considering that this law prohibits competition and the right to the work of this company and its partners with the drivers.
It was suggested that the Constitutional Court adopt an interim measure to suspend the application and enforcement of the road transport law in road traffic until the final decision.
CarGo CEO Vuk Guberinić told reporters that the Passenger Transport Act was unconstitutional because it denied the right to work, distorted bidders' position in the market, limited free market competition and threatened consumer interests.
"Serbia's constitutional obligation is to provide a level playing field for all market players, and on the other hand, the Ministry of Transport has not been willing to respond to a modern idea such as CarGo, "he said.
He recalled that the CarGo application had so far been used by more than 150,000 people, which shows that a large number of people are interested in this type of transport, which They are satisfied with the operation, quality and price of the service.
Guberinić emphasized that CarGo is fighting for its rights exclusively through legal means and innovation, and that it will never block the streets and harass citizens like a taxi driver.
On October 26, the Serbian Parliament adopted amendments to the Road Transport Act in circulation, and CarGo, as well as its partners, has a period of 90 days from the entry into force of the the law to adapt to these changes.
