One of the most famous Macedonian playwrights, Goran Stefanovski, died in 66 years after a short but serious illness.
He spent the last year of his life in the UK, not far from London, where news of his death came tonight, reports "Nova Makedonija".

Goran Stefanovski was born on April 27, 1952 in Bitola (the younger brother Vlatko is a famous musician). He graduated from the Skopje School of Philosophy and studied drama at the Belgrade Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he also obtained a master's degree.
He began his career on television. He was assistant at the Faculty of Philology of Skopje, professor of drama in Skopje, member of the Macedonian PEN, the Association of Writers and, since 2004, member of the Academy.
Twice he received the Steri Award.
In July, he was in Belgrade for the last time at the World Congress of the International Federation for Theater Research. After the opening ceremony at the National Theater, he held a plenary lecture on the theme of rallying – "Theater and Migration – The Theater of the Identity of Nations Between Migration and Real Estate". After that, he talked about "Blic".
