Friday afternoon, the deputies of the Serbian Parliament discussed the agenda. Work will continue today at 10 am when the debate on the finance bill for 2019 and a set of tax laws will begin.
The Serbian parliament yesterday rejected more than 250 proposals to complete the agenda, explained by the deputies, the authorities and the opposition.
The proposed budget provides total revenues of 1,246.2 billion dinars and expenditures of 1,269 billion dinars.
For capital investment in 2019, a total of 220 billion dinars has been defined and wages in the public sector will increase from 7% to 12% from 1 January.
According to the Serbian Tax Council, the planned budget is balanced and the deficit will be low, acceptable and will guarantee a reduction of public debt the following year.
The Tax Council said that pension growth was well sized, but wages were raised more than justified.
1500 pages budget
Opposition deputies were unhappy with the Assembly materials that arrived three days ago. They did not have the time to know it and the budget alone has 1,500 pages.
They also felt that the government wanted to "silence the laws" because the program, even with regard to the budget, had 60 additional points.
The finance ministry said that in addition to the budget, they were MPs and laws that would raise the economy and that they would consider maintaining the ban on public sector employment.
The members will discuss, among other things, the increase of the tariff of the subscription to the public services RTS and RTV from 150 dinars to 220 dinars.
