Goran Bregovic is one of the most popular musicians of the former Yugoslavia and his story is not known in the smallest detail.

Goran was born in 1950 in Sarajevo. He was the son of Serbian wife Borka and Croatian Franjo. He rarely spoke of the details of his youth.

– My father was a soldier and my mother was an accountant. I come from a middle class, where nothing has ever been fatal, but there was no abundance. I'm probably worried about the shyness of the house, so I hope the kids and I will be like that. My parents were my communists. Religious festivals were not celebrated at home, but an Orthodox pop lived above me. I've always had a colorful egg for Easter. At the same time, I was in a neighborhood so close that I sent to Bajram Kurban's neighbors, the flesh of the battering ram for the holidays. It was then that I had a Kurban that day. Regardless of the fact that I grew up in such a house, God sent me signals regularly – said Bregovic.

The growth of Bregović was marked by the divorce of his parents.

– I stayed with my mother in Sarajevo, although every summer I visited my father and my brother in Livno. Later, my brother moved to my home in Sarajevo, where he studied, and my mother helped me in tasks that other mothers might not be able to. For example, she bought me the first guitar. I do not know what to do with her. At that time, as a good draftsman, I had the intention of enrolling in an art school. My aunt was working at the health center on systematic reviews and could trust her mother when she said, "Gods, sister, only you come here." That's why she did not let me go to an art school – explained Bregovic.

My father, unfortunately, was an alcoholic, so he divorced his mother. So, a huge love has failed. I was 10 years old and my little brother, five years old. When a mother dies, it's a big disaster because she's a person you love every day. Your father never gives you feelings, "Goran said.

– The older I get, the more I look like a father. When he retired, he returned to his village of Zagorje, Sveti Petar Čvrstec. During the first five or six years, he did not want to introduce electricity into the house. No water When you come home, you have to talk – no TV. Otherwise, in this village, he was the only one to go to see the partisans; The others were in the homeless. My mother always cuddled him when he was turning to the fans because there were better fish there. The village pop jokingly told him not to leave the village, to stay with them as they had no followers in the cemetery. When I think of my father, I would like to die like him. He was lucky, easily. And he realized the desire of a pop village … in this village, "said Brega, who discovered that his grandfather was a lonely man.

– The Mamini Perišić are from the village of Kazanci, on the border of Montenegro and Herzegovina. Grandpa was a lawyer and, after the First World War in Slavonia, he received a country as a prize. The settlers. From their homeland, they took the name of the village – Čemernica. Awesome! Only Montenegrins and Herzegovina can give such terrible names to villages. When the Second World War began, my grandfather went to the partisans and my grandmother, two uncles, my aunt and my mother were taken to Jasenovac. At the camp gate, they were exchanged for captured Germans. Then they arrived in Serbia and my grandmother unreservedly supported the children by smuggling tobacco from Herzegovina. She jumped off the train before reaching Belgrade station – said Bregović.
