The President of the Tax Council, Pavle Petrovic, said today that if the expected withdrawal of the reduction in profits in public companies was about 5% for Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS), the average salary in this company stood at about 90,000 dinars.
At the presentation of the Budget Council, which was held today at the conference, the average profit in EPS amounted to 79 657 dinars in 2014, to 79 979 dinars in 2015, at 81,789 dinars last year and 84,205 dinars this year.
The Tax Council has estimated that an increase in BPA profits of about 90,000 dinars would not be justified, but that money should be invested. By way of comparison, Petrovic said that the average salary in the health care sector in Serbia was around 60,000 dinars.
Petrović said that in 2014, when savings measures were put in place and that state-owned companies reduced their profits, EPS did not act, but continued to increase them.
