The district heating systems are working in the best order this morning during the visit of the mayor of Zoran Radojicic, the heating system "Novi Beograd".

Radojicic and the management of JKP "Belgrade Power Plant" went to Termokomandu, the dispatch center and the thermal power generation plant.

– Since the snow started falling during the night and low temperatures during the night, "Elektrane" has switched to a 24-hour heating system and the entire heating system in Belgrade is working well – said Radojicic, adding that in this way, it would be in the city heating 311,000 apartments and 2,000 people are working to heat the apartments in Belgrade.

The mayor stressed on this occasion that the district heating system is growing more and more every year and that the new plant is planned for the coming period.

– In particular, we will build next year a new installation worth six million euros in the heating installation of Vozdovac. The electricity will be produced and the apartments will also be heated. We will also present the project of heating plant Obrenovac TENT "A" – new heating plant in Belgrade. With that, the city will have complete energy security and a huge amount of money will be saved – said Radojicic.

The "Belgrade Power Plants", consisting of 15 heating plants and 23 boiler rooms, are the largest single energy consumers in Serbia.

With modern technology, saves 500 million dinars a year

The distribution center of JKP "Beogradske elektrane" has launched a new modern model of management and monitoring of district heating in Belgrade. The production system, the distribution network and the station two weeks ago work with the highest standards that our experts have transferred from Japan.

– "Belgrade power plants" now use a high-tech solution to manage the principles of "smart cities". They will save more than 500 million RSDs a year and reduce their gas consumption by about 3% – said Radojicic.

Such savings are possible thanks to the modern computer program that "Beelektrana" now owns and whose use, depending on weather conditions, harmonizes the supply of heat energy.

– This means that the apartments are hot during cold days, which is the most important, while being careful not to consume more electricity than necessary. Based on weather forecasts, which are updated every 15 minutes, it is possible to predict how much energy will be spent in the next 72 hours – said the mayor.
