Ksenija Božović, Vice President of the SDP Citizens Initiative, on Belgrade's initiatives and its influence on Kosovo Serbs during the crisis
I think that resignations should have been done at all levels, not just by the presidents of the municipalities … You see, there is no point in calling on national unity and staying in the government and the local government. institutions of Kosovo.
Why did not they leave all institutions, left the government (Ramush Haradinaj)? What is the call to national unity? – believes Danas Ksenija Božović, vice president of the citizens' initiative SDP and members of the municipal assembly of the municipality of Mitrovica. She did not attend a session during which the mayors resigned at the same time in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, as she had a significant workload, namely the attempt to extract from the custody of the murderer Oliver Ivanovic's secretary.
However, as Danas says, the fact that resignations are given in part and that they are explained by reasons considered essential is a bad message.
– Everyone must resign everywhere – the cognitive of our list is categorical.
When asked why she thought this should be the case, she cites the introduction of a taxi by the Kosovo authorities, as well as the arrest of Secretary Oliver Ivanovic. He regards this procedure as intimidation.
– The introduction of a taxi is a measure that is by no means good. The international community is facing this and the time has come for Pristina to withdraw this measure. I testify here, it is not yet, but we do not know what are the supplies … – says Danas.
Asked about his opinion on the reaction of the Belgrade government to the arrest of Serbs after the assassination of Oliver Ivanovic and the introduction of a Serbian taxi, Ksenija Bozovic pointed out that the Kosovo Serbs did not, as he says, have government in Belgrade and the other president as Aleksandar Vucic.
"We have to believe that everything they do is in our interest," concludes interlocutor Danas.
By the time some Kosovo Serbs were transferred to Dana today, the impression of the resignation of the mayors of the four municipalities has actually and exclusively revolted while attempting to arrest Milan Radoicic ( known as a controversial businessman), and shortly after the mandate of the Vice-President of the Serbian List, who works under the control of SNS), suspected of the murder of Olivier Ivanovic, is not wrong either for those who live there, practically, under his authority and his will.
– The name of Radoicic is not taken by the Kosovo Serbs. We must not, we are afraid. You can not imagine your appearance here in Belgrade … Nobody living here should dare to call him, let alone tell who he is, why we are afraid of him, why we think that he is involved in a murder … – Danas interlocutors say. They assume that they will always know who Radoicic is and that the investigating authorities will do their share of the work. Until then, as they point out, they do not believe that anyone will dare to freely express their attitude, their opinion and their impression of what this man does and represents in northern Kosovo.
The mayor of Zubin Potok, Stevan Vulovic, is the only one of the four mayors of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija to have officially resigned to the Ministry of Local Government of Kosovo (MALS), reports the portal KoSSev.
The mayors of Severna Mitrovica (Goran Rakic), Zvecana (Vucina Jankovic) and Leposavic (Zoran Todic) have submitted their resignations to the mayor's office, with the exception of Vulovic, but they have not yet presented them to MALS . According to the law on local self-government, in case of resignation of a mayor, elections must be held within 45 days, as they are chosen by direct vote of the citizens. The ministry said they would continue to coordinate their activities with the cabinet of the President of Kosovo and that they would only schedule elections for the Zubin Potok municipality. Vulovic, however, called for the rallying of the Serbian elections and, in a moving statement to the RTS, he described his fate by releasing himself, as he says, from being a "mayor of Kosovo" for several years.
