The city's staff committee held a meeting today chaired by the Belgrade mayor prof. Dr. Zoran Radojičić. The session was attended by the President of the City Assembly Nikola Nikodijevic, Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic, Deputy Mayor Andrej Mladenovic, City Council member Slobodan Solevic, ed. Secretary for Defense, Emergencies, Communications and Coordination of Relations with Citizens, Darko Glavaš, as well as the directors of the relevant public utilities.

At the session, a decree was issued concerning the implementation of preventive and operational measures to protect against floods and extreme weather events.

The Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic issued a warning that a higher amount of rainfall is expected during the evening and the coming weekend. In most places in Serbia, one expects that it will rise from 20 to 30 liters per square meter in a very short time, as well as in the city's appearance and storm winds.

The decree provides for taking all measures for the protection of the population and material property on the ground, as well as the reduction of possible risks of urban floods, torrents, landslides and possible landslides. It is necessary to engage public service resources and qualified subjects to react in such situations, as well as coordination with the competent public water management companies in the event of implementation of flood protection.
