Ford in Europe is preparing radical changes for its auto family.
The company plans to replace the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy models with a crossover caravan.
The new vehicle, whose name is not yet known, will mark the departure of Ford from the market for large hatchbacks and minivans.
Although there is no data on creation, the new model should be introduced early in 2021.
The new car will be installed on Ford's super flexible C2 platform, which can be expanded to accommodate seven passengers.
The model will be equipped with gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a 48V hybrid option.
The basic version is equipped with Ford's 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine.
Ford hopes the new model will appeal to "adventurous families" who want lower maintenance costs than SVU models.
And while replacing three completely different models, it is estimated that it can sell many more copies than the three versions together.
