Do not expel Japanese manufacturers of diesel engines from the supply in Europe, as half of Toyota's sales on the "Old Continent" in the first half of 2018 with a hybrid drive.
The Japanese giant sold 560,000 cars in Europe during this period, a slight increase over the same period last year.
Of this total, 257,000 Toyota sales in Europe are hybrids, up 23% from 2017, accounting for 46% of total sales.
The numbers are even more impressive in Western Europe where 58% of Toyota's sales are in hybrid cars.
Toyota has increased its overall share of European crude to five percent, and has 16 models with a hybrid system.
Sales growth also drove Toyota's Lexus premium to seven per cent, of which 62 per cent is hybrids, and 99 per cent sold in Western Europe.
Toyota in Europe sells its smallest model Yaris 123,266 units, of which it is 66,306 with a hybrid drive.
