After the Slavi square, the Cvetni square and now the Republic square, the Nikola Pasic square should be revamped in the coming years.

– The square of Nikola Pašić will be rebuilt in the same way as the Republic Square, which should be a free surface and a beautiful architecture. Work should begin and end in the next year. The Bezistan will be completely rebuilt, both as a walking trail, but also by its appearance. The construction site of the "Kasina" hotel, which will start soon, was also announced – a few days ago by the town planner Marko Stojcic.

What will place Nikola Pasic after the reconstruction is only partially known.

– The space will be leveled, refreshed with new plants and complete paving will be done. The fountain that adorns this space since 1959 will be different. We have a competition solution from four years ago, and the authors are the same as those who worked on the Republic Square. According to the initial solution, no fountain was planned. However, I insist that water be preserved in one form or another. Because, nevertheless, there is a long tradition of this fountain. And that has its meaning. We will make some project corrections and the fountain will be in a different form. Marko Stojčić explained for B92, both from the point of view of the construction and the effect obtained with the water.

The Nikola Pasic Square was built in 1953 and, until 1998, it was called Marks and Engels Square. It is located between King Alexander Boulevard, Terazije and Deccan Streets, where virtually the Republic and the City Hall are located, and in its central part, one of Serbia's largest fountains.
