A prisoner from the Nis Prison Institute, Ivan Ilić, 41, from Jagodina, who was participating in public greenery activities via JKP Medijana in Niš, was killed with a knife several times yesterday at the Entry of the Fortress, in the direction of markets.
An unknown assassin, masked by a ghost, was waiting for him at the end of the shift, behind a hopper, near the place where a prison bus went to convicts who were employed, and handed him several shots, suspected of automatic weapons. He died from injuries on the spot.

The vehicle by which the killer escaped from the site was found burned shortly after the crime in Danila Kisa Street, in the village of Donji Komren, located about two kilometers from the fortress.
The vehicle was parked under the underpass of this street, in an inaccessible part where it reached the land route, then it was flooded with gasoline and lit. According to unofficial information, cars are fords. The killer, or several of them, then fled, not far from this place. The firefighters stopped the cars, but he had already burned completely.

Ilic was sentenced to seven years in prison for drug addiction and was alone for serving his sentence. He spent about two and a half years in detention for counting him in jail. According to unofficial information, he reportedly worked about two months in the treatment of greenery in a median with several other prisoners.
