PKS and EastHub, USA, launched "EastHub – the first Serbian IT accelerator", a business incubator that provides support to young IT companies in Serbia to transfer their ideas to the US and other developed markets. The project will be presented on December 7th at the PKS. It will also be an opportunity for interested candidates to present their ideas. The first five go to Miami in February.

Since the United States is the world's largest technology group and is constantly on the lookout for new visions, this market has been selected to train and train more interested young companies.

Vuk Zivkovic, executive director of American EastHuba, pointed out that the Serbian computer industry exported more than a billion dollars, but that 90% of these exports were "outsourced cheaply", while only 10% exported Serbian software.

He believes that there is currently no incentive or help for IT companies to supply Serbian software to large markets, as well as for training and people who can help our engineers and start-ups to to face the big investors and funds of the world.

"It is not the innovations of Serbia that are missing, nor a good idea, but a support for these innovations to be found on the right markets Easthub is the first accelerator of Serbian companies in the world to offer a complete logistics to Serbian companies in America and to merge with people from the areas of sales, marketing, investment funds …, Živković said.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Katarina Obradović Jovanović, said that his parent ministry had supported this initiative and indicated that the computer industry, the software industry in Serbia, was considered a luck for our economy.

"In the coming period, the IPA will fund a project that will support the development of the (commercial) incubator, where exactly such businesses should start," Obradovic said.

He recalls that he is working on the formation of another accelerator in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the World Bank.

Jelena Jovanovic, Director of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, said ads for all interested companies were posted on the PKS and EastHub website.

One of the solutions for the development of new and existing startups in Serbia is the establishment of business accelerators or business incubators.

The idea is to select 5 companies per quarter (two representatives) who will participate in the program in the United States. The intention is to start with a two-week program, with the tendency to extend the training by months or even up to three months.

Companies will receive airline tickets, offices, mentorship, but also a professional program.

EastHub provides basic business advice in the United States and advice to founding, non-resident companies in the United States. The process of selecting companies will be through direct presentations to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (pitching), and expert panel members will be entrepreneurs, investors and experts.
