On December 15, Telekom Srbija will announce a call for the voluntary departure of 1,000 employees. Those who opt for this program will leave the company in February 2019 with a severance payment of 900 euros per year of service, learns "Blic".
Thus, the first part of the agreement recently signed between the management and the representative trade unions of the company addresses the conditions of voluntary departure of employees, while the second, which involves the abandonment of 800 People due to outsourcing, that is to say from a transition to other companies, will be implemented in the autumn of the following year. This program will have the same conditions, ie it will be based on the principle of voluntary nature and with a severance payment of 900 euros per year of service.
The union leaders of this company are satisfied with the agreement reached with management and point out that it is not a technological surplus, but a means of encouraging the company. optimize the number of Telekom employees.
– We have achieved the best conditions in Serbia, but also more widely because there are practically no such things in the EU. It is not a technological surplus, as it is presented to the public, because we do not have it by European standards. What we have here is the unfavorable age structure of employees, the average is 49, some of whom in this category can not adapt to technological advances. Interest is high and the amount limited to severance pay is € 30,000. Because of this limit, a small number of high-level workers can be harmed by 1,000 or 2,000 euros – said Miroslav Joksimovic, president of the union Telekom Srbija.
He added that the contest will be announced these days.
– Our IT department uses a special application that only allows employees to be informed of the solution that best suits their departure. On December 15, the contest will be announced and the entire procedure is expected to be completed in February, until 1,000 workers voluntarily leave the company. For people who have a three-year retirement pension and want to leave voluntarily, special conditions stipulate that they will receive the amount of gross salary that they would receive to stay in the company – explains Joksimovic for "Blic".
The president of Telekom's unified union Slavoljub Kandic has a similar attitude.
– We believe that the program is stimulating and that 1,000 people will ask for a voluntary departure. And the conditions for outsourcing, that is to say the transition to other companies, which should leave 800 more workers in the autumn, are good and I think they will be interested, "says Kandic .
Ćulibrk: very important for the future
Telekom CEO Predrag Ćulibrk expressed his thanks to the unions who recognized the importance of optimizing the number of employees in the company.
– This is very important for the future of the company, which unfortunately counts today less than 1% of employees under 30 years old. Nearly 50% are people over 50 years old. Technological change requires young and educated people, whose knowledge will be adapted to the market and weather conditions. Our goal is not to bring people from Telekom, because we are talking about people who have spent all their active lives here, but to live in voluntary and financially profitable conditions – says Ćulibrk.
