"There is no center in Petnica in Germany," said Thomas Schib, Germany's ambassador, who opened the 17th annual conference of young scientists "Enter Science" at the research station from Petnica.
This is a central annual event in a unique nursing education institution for gifted children and young people from this part of Europe, where its students present their first small science projects, implemented this year in the labs and wardrobes of the station.
This year, during the conference "Enter the science", four days of work will be presented by nearly 200 high school students, students and young scientists, authors of 80 research projects from 19 scientific disciplines.
– We do not have a center like Petnica in Germany. There are similar institutions, but not as large and developed. I am happy to see here participants from other countries in the region. It is important that young people who love science connect, regardless of their country of origin. They only need to connect their interests. It will be a pleasure for me to come back to discuss with the students, "said German Ambassador Tomasz Schib at the opening of the conference.
In addition to participants from Serbia, this year's conference is regional in nature. High school students from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia will also present their results.
Tatjana Matic, Secretary of State for the Information Society, sent a message to participants.
– Your willingness to invest your time, your talent and your knowledge in the sciences, in the most brilliant of civilizations, deserves an immense respect. The Petnica Research Station is certainly the ideal place for your first steps in science, a contemporary science that monitors and anticipates global trends in scientific research. Petnica serves the reputation of Serbia. Its directors, speakers and associates, as well as its participants, represent the greatest potential of our country. The glory of science is also demonstrated by opening doors to young people from other countries and encouraging regional and international cooperation – concluded Matić.
Petnica Research Station is an independent institution that develops scientific culture, scientific culture, education and culture. Its activities are mainly focused on young people – students and students, as well as on the training of teachers in new techniques, methods and contents in the field of science and technology.
