Serbia's public debt at the end of September this year amounted to about 23.95 billion euros, accounting for 55.9% of gross domestic product (GDP), announced the Ministry of Finance. Serbia's public debt at the end of 2017 amounted to 23.2 billion euros, or 61.5% of GDP.
In December 2016, the public debt amounted to about 24.8 billion euros, or 71.9% of GDP.
At the end of 2015, the public debt also amounted to about 24.8 billion euros, or 74.7% of GDP that year.
Serbia's public debt at the end of 2014 amounted to 22.76 billion euros, or 70.4% of GDP, against 20.14 billion euros at the end of 2013 , with a share of 59.6% of GDP. .
At the end of 2000, Serbia's public debt amounted to 14.17 billion euros, or 201.2% of GDP. The lowest level of public debt was in 2008, amounting to 8.78 billion euros, or 28.3% of GDP.
Under the Budget System Act, the share of public debt in GDP is limited to 45%.
Fiat and Steel are still the biggest exporters
The export value of the top 15 exporters of Serbia in the first nine months of this year amounted to 3.7 billion euros. The main exporters were Fiat Krajsler (FCA) cars, whose exports amounted to 654.7 million euros, and HBIS Group, owner of Smederevo Ironworks, with exports of 638.3 million euros announced the Ministry of Finance.
The oil industry of Serbia is third with an export of 398.2 million euros, followed by Tigar Tajers of Pirot with an export of 333 million euros.
The list includes Robert Bosch of Belgrade with exports of 205.8 million, Petrohemija of Pancevo with 181.7 million, Tetra Pak of Belgrade with 171.8 million, Grundfos of Indjija with 169 , 5 million euros, RTB Bor with 149.8 million euros and Jura Corporation of Raca with 147.2 million euros.

Budget surplus of 49.3 billion dinars
Serbia's budget surplus at the end of September of this year amounted to 49.3 billion dinars, with revenues rising to 873.7 billion and expenditures to 824, 5 billion, announced the Ministry of Finance.
In September, a surplus of 12.5 billion dinars was released.
Revenue collection in September amounted to 102.9 billion, of which tax revenue was 93 billion dinars. Most of the tax revenue concerns the payment of VAT for 54.3 billion dinars and excise duties for 22.7 billion dinars.
Non-tax revenue reached 9.6 billion dinars and donations reached 300 million dinars.
In September, Republican budget spending amounted to 90.5 billion dinars. The costs for employees amounted to 21.3 billion RSD and transfers to social security bond organizations (pension fund, pension fund, NDA, SOVO fund) of 19 billion RSD.
At the general government level, a budget surplus of 54.3 billion dinars (1.5% of GDP) and a primary fiscal surplus of 148.7 billion dinars (4.1% of GDP) were released between January and September.
According to the annual budget execution plan of the general government, a budget deficit of 14.6 billion dinars is expected for this period, which means that the result obtained is better for 68.9 billion dinars, said the Ministry of Finance.
