One of the most famous Macedonian playwrights, Goran Stefanovski, died in 66 years after a short but serious illness.

He spent the last year of his life in the UK, not far from London, where news of his death came tonight, reports "Nova Makedonija".

Goran Stefanovski is one of the most prolific and well-known playwrights, not only in Macedonia, but also in the region. His dramatic dramatic lyrics are performed on stage and throughout Europe. The author is a piece of "wild meat", "tattooed souls", "Double Bottom" …

Goran Stefanovski was born on April 27, 1952 in Bitola (the younger brother Vlatko is a famous musician). He graduated from the Skopje School of Philosophy and studied drama at the Belgrade Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he also obtained a master's degree.

He began his career on television. He was assistant at the Faculty of Philology of Skopje, professor of drama in Skopje, member of the Macedonian PEN, the Association of Writers and, since 2004, member of the Academy.

Twice he received the Steri Award.
