Satisfied with the sale of 530,000 units since the start of production in 2015, nearly half of the 1.3 million plan planned for the period 2015-2023, Tofaš has decided to invest 200 million units. euros in the refresh of the model, which accounts for 70% of its exports abroad.

According to the new plan, Fiat Egea / Tipo will produce a total of 1.45 million units by 2024 and the production of the updated model will begin at the end of 2020.

The Tipo, available in sedan, sedan and wagon versions, will receive upgraded powertrains complying with Euro6D emission standards, the new 10.25-inch UConnect multimedia system, a new center console and an interior.

A hybrid variant with the FireFly gasoline generator set should be based, and the first should take place at the next Geneva Motor Show, where the Fiat 500 will surely be the center of attention.

Fiat Egea / Tipo is the best-selling car in Turkey for three years. Last year, it sold 34,000, mainly in sedan variants.

If you have the opportunity to visit Istanbul, you will not notice the dominance of this car in the streets of the city, including in the form of taxis and official vehicles.

Tofas is however the most profitable country to export since it exported 243,832 of the 301,750 series cars in 2018 (including other cars and light commercial vehicles).

Tofas employs approximately 9,000 people and is the fourth largest company in Turkey.
