The Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, Mladen Šarčević, visiting in the morning TV show Pink, spoke about the violence in Kanjiža, while the school director reportedly hit a physical education teacher, as well as a new practice of licensing the director.

He said that a unified education system is under way, whereby anyone who does wrongdoing and acts at the expense of the budget will not react to violence nor will it sanction it.

During the alleged incident at the agricultural and technical high school "Besdeš Jožef" in Kanjiža, where the director canceled the slap of physical education teachers, the minister said the system was huge and that they were trying to minimize such incidents.

– Such conflicts must have an epilogue. The lady has called the law on education where everything is written. Yesterday I received a report from the municipal inspection. However, they should first contact people in local self-governments. The report should first be submitted to the provincial secretary of education, who will then report to us – said Sarcevic.

According to him, when material facts are established, witness statements are collected, after which disciplinary proceedings are instituted, if proven.

– I always insist that each case should be investigated and examined from several angles. What is important is that there is no personal conflict on an ethnic principle. This is not the case here. But we are going to investigate exactly what happened here – Sarcevic said.

directors only with a license

Šarčević also spoke of a new practice, according to which school directors will have a license to do the work.

– We started with the licensing of principals, and so far 362 of them have received them. We started from those who gave the best results, namely an external evaluation of institutions and their work in these institutions. Unlike the previous method, where anyone could apply for a director position, no matter how it works, we now have training for that position, passing a licensing and scoring exam – said Sarcevic.

According to him, the directors are no longer appointed by the unions and no political structure will do it.

– The thesis is to define the highest quality, and preferably, it would be good to be even the most neutral. It is now assumed that we will have finished all the directors who had the three at the end of June. And we will invite people who think they can do this work to get a license – said Sarcevic.

According to his remarks, a large group of directors will soon be replaced because they have created a fake department, where only the controllers of the Ministry of Education have access to funding.

"We are working on a one-of-a-kind information system where there is an electronic price (a method of calculating wages), which is making setbacks and damaging the budget, has not reacted to violence, or is it does not deserve to be a director, "concluded Šarčević.
