Seth Rogen called on the Emmys for their lack of COVID-19 security measures during an award ceremony at the ceremony last night (September 19).

Rogen presented the evening’s top prize for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Los Angeles event, which went to Hannah Waddingham for her role in the football comedy Ted lasso.

At the start of his speech, Rogen said, “It’s good to be here at the Emmy Awards. Let me start by saying that there are way too many of us in this little room.

Criticizing the security measures put in place during the event, he added: “What are we doing? They said it was outside! It’s not! They lied to us!

“We are currently in a hermetically sealed tent. I would not have arrived there! Why is there a roof? he added. “It’s more important that we have three chandeliers than making sure we don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight. This is what has been decided.

In order to attend the Emmys, all people appearing and working at the awards were required to provide proof of double vaccination as well as a negative COVID test within 48 hours of arrival.

To the rewards, The crown was the big winner of the evening, taking home eight awards including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor in Drama (Josh O’Connor), Lead Actress in Drama (Olivia Colman), Supporting Actor in Drama (Tobias Menzies) and a Supporting Actress in a Drama (Gillian Anderson).
