“They said it was outside – it wasn’t! They lied to us.”

The Emmys are on, folks! And what better way to start than with Seth Rogen presenting an award – and saying he wouldn’t have come if he had known the event was inside, due to COVID reasons.

“It’s good to be here at the Emmy Awards,” Seth began, according to the Daily Beast. “Let me start by saying: There are far too many of us in this little room.” “

“What are we doing? They said it was outside – it wasn’t! They lied to us,” he continued.

“We are currently in a hermetically sealed tent. I wouldn’t have come to that. Why is there a roof? It’s more important to have three chandeliers than to make sure you don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight. This is what has been decided.

It’s not entirely clear how much Seth was joking, given that he ended his speech by saying, “These are all the jokes I wrote.”

His tone was rather high pitched!

This year’s Emmys are bigger – 500 people – than last year’s largely virtual event, but attendance is still limited compared to previous years. In addition, all guests and working people should provide proof of vaccination and a negative test within the previous 48 hours.

Welp, wishing everyone a safe Emmys!
