Seth Rollins has revealed that he and Dean Ambrose once rightfully annoyed Randy Orton after attacking him in a WWE segment.
Along with Roman Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins ambushed several prominent superstars during The Shield’s early days on WWE’s main roster in 2012 and 2013. On one occasion, Rollins hopped on Orton’s back while that Ambrose was attacking his knee with a cutting block.
Speaking about Steve Austin’s Broken Skull sessions, Rollins recalled how Orton reacted furiously backstage after the incident.
“I jump on Randy, who’s a big guy. I climb onto his back and before he has time to think, Ambrose is there with the marble. It’s a good cutting block, it’s also sure they come, but you feel someone drop when you have someone on your head and it’s time to panic. We come back to Gorilla [backstage area] and Randy is sexy. He’s hot, he’s screaming, he’s basically saying he’s going to hit Ambrose. I remember he left Gorilla and we are all like [laughing]. hunter [Triple H]It’s like, ‘Don’t worry about that,’ ”Seth Rollins said.
Seth Rollins did not specify when The Shield’s attack on Orton took place. However, the footage in the video above shows that the incident happened after Orton beat Brad Maddox on RAW in December 2012.

The Shield also attacked Superstars including Daniel Bryan and John Cena during their first few months in WWE.
Seth Rollins explained that the group’s threesome attacks were never repeated, which is why Randy Orton initially felt unsafe working with them.
“We never plan these things. There was no rehearsal. It’s like, ‘Okay, they’re coming.’ So we never knew how we were going to hit him. Ambrose is one of the safest guys in the world, but Randy didn’t know it at the time. I always went high, Ambrose generally went low. I was a little faster so I would get there first, ”said Seth Rollins.
The Shield’s rivalry with Orton resulted in a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania 29. Participating in their first match at WrestleMania, The Hounds of Justice continued their winning streak with a victory over Orton, The Big Show and Sheamus .
