Syracuse, NY – Seven other residents of Onondaga County have died from Covid-19 in the past two days.

That brings the pandemic total to 762 deaths, according to statistics compiled by the county.

Four deaths were reported Thursday on the county’s website. Today Onondaga County Director Ryan McMahon tweeted: “Another tough day as we report 3 more deaths.”

Two of those who died today were women, in their forties and one in their sixties. A 70-year-old man also died. No details were given on Thursday’s deaths.

The number of Covid-19 patients in Syracuse hospitals has remained stable at 78, McMahon said. Of those, 21% are in intensive care units, he said.

The county confirmed 123 new cases today and 126 on Thursday. That’s slightly below the daily average for the past two weeks, which has hovered around 150. McMahon said earlier this week that he expected cases to flatten out.

McMahon also said he would hold a briefing Monday to outline plans for the booster clinics and “further test updates.”
