Several Buckeyes get the first round buzz

The NFL Draft is only three months away, and several Buckeyes are bracing and bracing for their chance to impress scouts ahead of the Draft.

It’s early days, but the latest simulation draft shows that several Buckeyes will be selected in the first round of the draft, which takes place on Thursday, April 29.

Quarterback Justin Fields, who set records in Ohio state and led the Buckeyes to two Big Ten titles and two college football playoff appearances, is expected to be selected with the No.4 pick of the Atlanta Falcons in The Network’s latest simulated draft by Jordan Reid. If selected by the Falcons, Fields could be the heir after 35-year-old Atlanta starting quarterback Matt Ryan.

Former Buckeyes All-American guard Wyatt Davis is also expected to be a first-round pick. Reid plans Davis to be selected by the Baltimore Ravens with No. 27 overall. Davis could strengthen the inside of the Ravens’ offensive line and end up with former Buckeyes running back JK Dobbins.

Although the draft is still months away, the Buckeyes should already have a great night in the first round.

First registrants begin careers in the state of Ohio

The state of Ohio welcomed 15 members of its 2021 recruiting class to campus over the weekend. The arrival on campus marked the official start of the careers of these 15 Buckeyes.

New members of the football program will have a lot to adapt to become part of the program and thrive. Jeremy Birmingham from Lettermen Row has more on that below:

The two tailbacks, Treveyon Henderson and Evan Pryor, were unable to play in their home states of Virginia and North Carolina. 5-star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka failed to make it to Washington, tight end Sam Hart failed to make it in Colorado and defensive linemen Tyleik Williams (Virginia) and Jack Sawyer (Ohio) did ‘haven’t played as seniors either. The main reason so many kids are enrolling early is that it allows them to play college earlier, but these seven kids haven’t played football anywhere in over a year.

It will be a major adjustment, one of many that will come to miss the last act of being a high school student. The state of Ohio is a different world.

Buckeyes is already starting quarterback competition

The Buckeyes are already moving on to next season after losing the national title earlier this month. And the most important agenda for next season? Find a new quarterback to replace Justin Fields. This competition is already starting and it will be an important part of the next spring practice in March.

Lettermen Row has more on the current situation in the quarterback battle:

Both Stroud and Miller were apparently going to enter this offseason one step ahead of McCord. Both signed up early last year in hopes of securing much-needed reps as a rookie. What happened instead was a global pandemic that canceled spring practice, eliminated non-conference games, and removed valuable quarterbacks competing to be the starter.

Miller played sparingly against Nebraska in the season opener and Stroud took some snaps at the end of the season, including one in the Sugar Bowl semi-final against Clemson. But neither of them tried to pass. Between the three quarterback candidates, there is no attempt at professional success at the college level. No.
