A strong storm system that brings extreme weather conditions into the Tennessee Valley will bring rain into the area overnight and gusty winds.
Winds will begin to rise overnight and a strong wind warning will begin in the early hours of Sunday morning and remain in effect for most of the day.
If you have to take out the trash or recycle it on Sunday, do not forget that gusts of wind can reach 100 km / h on Sunday afternoons. Expect early morning wind gusts in the range of 40 mph. At noon, we will see them oscillate at about 45 mph. Winds are expected to peak early in the afternoon at around 55 mph in Columbus, but some windier areas could record gusts of up to 60 mph. In the evening, the winds will blow slightly but they will still be around 45 mph.
The other big part of this weather story is the drop in temperatures. We will reach a peak early Sunday in the 50s to 50s, but strong winds will open up a cooler air mass until Sunday afternoon. At the end of the day on Sunday, temperatures will reach the first 20 and 30 low in central Ohio.
Winter is not yet officially over and the forecast is proof of that.
