It’s official!
Shailene Woodley confirmed Monday that she was engaged to Aaron Rodgers during an appearance on “The Tonight Show”.
“To us that’s not news so it’s kind of funny that everyone is panicking right now,” said Woodley, 29. “We’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while.'”
The “Big Little Liars” star gushed at her 37-year-old fiance, describing him as a “wonderful and amazing human being” and made fun of his career as a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
“I never thought I would be engaged to someone who throws balls for a living,” she joked. “I never thought as a little girl, ‘Yeah, when I grow up I’m going to marry someone who throws balls, yeah!’
“But he’s really so good at it,” she added. “I’m very impressed.”
Woodley added that she and Rodgers met during the pandemic and admitted that she had never attended – or watched – a football game.
“I don’t know him as a footballer,” she said. “I know him as the nerd who wants to welcome ‘Jeopardy!’ He’s the guy I know.
Rumors of a romance between the “Divergent” star and the NFL player only swirled in early February, and days later Rodgers revealed he was engaged.
Rodgers last dated Danica Patrick, while Woodley was previously linked with rugby player Ben Volavola.
