"Saturday Night Live" officially cuts ties with Shane Gillis.
"After discussing with Shane Gillis, we decided that he would not be part of" SNL, "said a spokesman for" SNL "on behalf of Lorne Michaels in a statement. Gillis was one of three new cast members announced last week for the 45th season of the long-running NBC comedy sketch show. But soon after, clips began to circulate from Gillis podcasts and other media in which he repeatedly used racist, homophobic and misogynistic language.
